Die Mimusen
Somewhere between Buster Keaton and Mr. Bean, between mime and slapstick, the “Mimusen” chase each other in a breakneck speed across the stage. Eccentric and lovable, with an intelligent and poetic humor and a breathtaking sense of timing, Klaus Franz and Marc Bockemühl bring a new way of visual comedy on stage. Their work reminds one of the time of the silent movies in the roaring 20’s.

Klaus Franz and Marc Bockemühl first met in 2001. Both were just beginning their Mime / Pantomime study at the academy for performing arts “Die Etage” in Berlin.
In that time, Marc found his new passion for playing the Musical Saw. Klaus had just finished his music studies in Guitar. So both mimes met after school to play music together.
The result of those long evenings was a public performance of the song “Summertime” in January 2002. In this first number, already they combined in a charming way, mime and music: The “Mimusen” were born.
Their work together fell on fertile ground and half a year later they performed their first full evening program. They use elements of classical pantomime, slapstick, musical-clownery, object theatre and electric boogie.
In the end of that July they premiered their program “Opus 1” in Ueberlingen at the Lake of Constance.
500 people were absolutely enthusiastic about the “Mimusen”. Cheering, applause and standing ovations were the confirmation for the young duo to keep on working together.
In the following years “Die Mimusen” developed a whole bunch of new numbers and they began to tour in Germany.
Since mime and music speak an international language, they were given the opportunity to play abroad. So they cheer the audiences in Great Britain, France, Holland and San Francisco.
In 2004 they successfully graduated from their studies in mime. For their examination they produced the mime theatre piece “Spielverbot” and therefore enlarging their repertoire and full evening program.
